Lush Junkie

Okay, I have to say first and foremost, I am a Lush junkie. The smell of the products when you walk into the store just sucks me in. For those who do not know what Lush is, I will not hold it against you. In a few words, Lush is a cosmetic store (not only for the ladies) that creates fresh products, 100% vegetarian (not that you would eat the products, although I would not put it past you). They have products ranging from dry shampoo to lip balms to bath bombs and everything in between.

I have tried many of their products and so far the one product I always go to is their fresh face masks. Imagine chocolate frosting or oatmeal on your face. Now imagine that you cannot eat it. That is the real struggle of using these products. I will warn you that these face masks do have to be refrigerated because they are fresh. I don't really want to find out what happens when you don't refrigerate them. The most recent fresh face mask I picked up from Lush and have almost finished up is "BB Seaweed". When I talked to one of the women at Lush, for my skin type (which is combination/oily by the way) this was her second top pick for me. Because her first pick was not available I decided to go with it. And it was free, so why not?

To be honest, I was not a huge fan of this particular face mask. It did not have the best smell (unless you like the smell of seaweed) and the fact that there were huge chunks of seaweed in the mask did not go very well for the actual application of the mask. I do have to say though, I did like the exfoliation factor when going to actually remove the mask. It did feel like a scrub, which I personally like. It does say it is great mask for everyone so I do suggest trying it at some point if you are looking for a perfect mask like me. You never know, it might be YOUR favorite.

Previous picks have been "Catastrophe Cosmetic", "Cupcake", and "Oatifix". I will be the first to admit, that despite the love for these products, you still have to choose the right ones for you. "Catastrophe Cosmetic" and "Cupcake" were awesome, however, they were a bit harsh for my more sensitive skin. I mean with a name like "Cupcake" don't tell me you wouldn't try to eat it as well.

"Oatifix" was amazing! I literally wish I could have licked my face clean. The smell of banana and vanilla definitely lingered for a bit afterwards, but I did not mind at all. It did not dry out my skin, and I even want to say that it calmed any redness I had on my face. So far "Oatifix" has been my personal favorite out of the ones I have tried so far.

I look forward to trying the rest of the fresh face masks that they have to offer and will definitely have to try to refrain from eating any of them no matter how good they look. And don't forget to keep your lush pots! You get a free fresh face mask after returning five used ones! That is how I got "BB Seaweed" for free! Let me know in the comments if you have any favorites, recommendations, or further questions on the products I've tried.
