#100happydays: Day 41
Still at the camp and I have to deal with this goofball! I don't know how he does it, but he can always manage to get me to smile, even when I don't want to. He brightens up my day and getting to camp with him and his family was really fun and I hope to get to do it again in the future.
#100happydays: Day 40
I got invited to go camping with my boyfriend and his family, of course how could I say no to that? I haven't been camping since I was in Yellowstone a few years back. Apparently when you go camping with the Eggers you get special treatment and get steak and shrimp for dinner. Or maybe it's just me? I could have sworn they said they do this all the time!
#100happydays: Day 39
I have the cutest little buddy that I got recently from my boyfriend. So if you have never seen Frozen, then you have no idea who this is and you live under a rock and should probably just stay there. This is Sven and he is another little feller to add to my family of stuffed animals. Reindeer are better than people!
#100happydays: Day 38
Being on a long empty road can definitely make you think sometimes. To me long empty roads make me think of all the opportunities that lie ahead on this road. Hopefully they are good things coming my way, at least I would like to think so. Roads like this are so picturesque and make me happy.

#100happydays: Day 37
It has really sucked not being at home, mostly because I really do miss my baby brother and sister. Unfortunately I missed my baby brother's first day of preschool! It was definitely a big day for him, but getting sent some pictures of him on his big day couldn't have made me happier. He looked like he was excited and I know that he'll do great.
#100happydays: Day 36
I will not get over the fact that I get to actually go to Sonic. That is not a thing when I am at home since our closest Sonic is like an hour away. You can never go wrong with mozzarella sticks and a lemon berry cream slush, which by the way is one of the greatest creations in the world. I really should start looking at my eating habits more...
#100happydays: Day 35
My boyfriend has to put up with a lot from me. One thing he has to put up with is my eating habit. I have a horrible habit of eating Cheez-its and cookies at the same time, literally in my mouth at the same time. For our one month anniversary he gave me a bouquet of Cheez-its and chocolate chip cookies. He is seriously the cutest.
#100happydays: Day 34
I have been known to get a little carried away when it comes to Bath and Body Works' hand sanitizers. I cannot help the cute packaging and all the different scents. They just released their fall scents and I am in love with them so of course I had to start another collection of hand sanitizers since all of mine are at home.
#100happydays: Day 33
I got to try disc golf for the first time in my life. My uncle took me with his friends and I discovered that I clearly suck. I will definitely need a lot more practice if I ever have any hope of actually making it into a basket and hearing those chains jingle! But for never playing before in my life, I do have to say it was still fun. Thanks uncle for introducing me to something new.
#100happydays: Day 32
I love the luxury of getting to surprise someone. Especially on their birthday! Me and my uncle went out and got my aunt an ice cream cake and gifts that consisted of both Betty Boop and Elvis because who doesn't love those two. My aunt sure does. Seeing her face just helped put a smile on my face. Glad to know I did something right!

#100happydays: Day 31
To be completely honest, I did not know what my lunch was. All I know is that my boyfriend was kind enough to bring me food since I was starving at work. Whatever this delicious chicken sandwich was, it needs to be fed to me more often.
#100happydays: Day 30
I got to go on a mini hike with my boyfriend. I have not been hiking in a while so it was fun...and kind of scary too. Knowing that we do different things all the time makes me happy. Even though I might not be the most outdoorsy person, I did have a blast.
#100happydays: Day 29
It's all about the little things isn't it? I got to see my grandma smile even after all she has been through since the accident. Definitely knew she was back to herself when I saw her go after those choke cherries. All I did was park the car for a second and she jumped out quicker than I could notice what she was going for. Seeing her happy just made me happy and I couldn't help but snap a picture. Don't tell her though, she doesn't know I did!
#100happydays: Day 28
I really do have the dorkiest boyfriend in the world. Matt deserves the title of my #mancrushmonday! He might be dorky, but he is all mine. He makes me smile every time I am with him and anyone who can do that totally deserves to be on my #100happydays journey.
#100happydays: Day 27
I get the luxury of getting the company of this kitty every time I'm at Matt's house. I have basically taken over my boyfriend's cat and he knows it. Rascal just loves to be loved and I'm all about giving it! Rascal makes me want to get a cat. One day!
#100happydays: Day 26
Some of my favorite nights are just staying in and chilling with my boyfriend. We happened to do a movie night, which we didn't fall asleep halfway through! Achievement reached! But we got to watch The Heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy and they made a pretty great team in the movie. I would definitely recommend it as it had some pretty good laughs.
#100happydays: Day 25
So I had been a little upset that I was not home to enjoy the Arlington County Fair that is an annual tradition, even if it does kinda suck. I was looking forward to riding the crappy Zipper and eating some amazing carnival food. Fortunately Rapid City has a fair that happens every year as well called the Central States Fair. It was the county fair on a bigger scale. I got to enjoy it with some awesome people and get a pretty great view.

Okay, who doesn't love themselves a good old grilled cheese sandwich? Okay now just imagine that sandwich revamped and being ten times better. Didn't think that could happen could you? Me neither. But this sandwich I had at Lucky's 13 was pretty damn good and pretty fancy. Too bad I wasn't hungry enough to finish the whole thing!
#100happydays: Day 23
After a night in the hospital, it was so great to see these. My boyfriend and his mother put these together and I swear I don't think I've had a bigger smile on my face than getting these. I mean what kind of cruel human being gives someone roses...I don't know! Even though he left for the day the flowers still stood in the hospital room and brightened up the room and my day, despite the events of the last 24 hours.
#100happydays: Day 22
So I got my first experience driving on the interstate, and lets just say that it did not end very well. I managed to total my aunt's car and get a trip to the hospital. Unfortunately my grandmother had a bigger boo boo than the rest of us so I stayed in the hospital overnight with her to make sure she was okay. Despite the day being pretty crappy, my boyfriend was by my side the whole time. He might not have been so happy that I had a picture of him sleeping, but other than that I would say him being there made me very happy. I will never be able to thank him enough for being there.

#100happydays: Day 21
For those of you not living under a rock you know that there is a little thing called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge being passed around. Basically this is a challenge to raise awareness for ALS and to make donations. My younger sister decided to nominate me for the challenge and I really was not up to having a bucket of ice water being dumped on me. I debated and debated and decided that I would complete the challenge I was nominated for and it really wasn't that bad. It was quite fun as you can tell by my facial expression!

#100happydays: Day 20
I made a really good friend this summer. I got the opportunity to hang with Nancy and see an awesome movie. We had a girls night and it felt good to hang out with a good friend. We ate junk and got to see Let's Be Cops. She is a goofball and I'm glad that we get along great. She always brightens my day at work and makes me smile!
#100happydays: Day 19
I love this time of year when the carnival is in town. Unfortunately I was not at home to enjoy the county fair. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to go to the central states fair with my family and forced my uncle to get on a couple rides. The carnival always seems to be the culmination of summer. I'm glad that I got the opportunity to go and with people I love.
#100happydays: Day 18
I work right next door to an old time photo studio. My coworkers from Happy Days and from the studio decided to get together and take some photos. I finally got my copies of the photos and they looked pretty cute. It makes me smile because I've made some good friends since I got to South Dakota and this will just be a memory of my times here.
#100happydays: Day 17
I have never been to a drive-in movie theater before in my life. I have had several opportunities, but just never went. Back home drive-in theaters are not a thing. My boyfriend took me to a double feature of Planes and Guardians of the Galaxy. Even the idea of being at a drive-in made me happy. I felt like I was in Grease like Danny and Sandy. The only downside was the rain.
#100happydays: Day 16
So I finally met part of my boyfriend's family when going with him to the lake. I tried out tubing on the lake for the first time and it was a fun filled day. The happiest moment was getting to lay in the hammock with him and just relax. Looking at the trees and the sky was very calming. Being with him makes me happy.
#100happydays: Day 15
My uncle has the luxury of living above a small cafe. I'm somewhat jealous because he can just walk downstairs and get himself a cup of coffee or a pastry. I got the opportunity to try out one of their cold beverages and it was crazy delicious! It was a mixture of chocolate and peanut butter to make their version of a frappe. Because Starbucks are not as prominent in this area as they are back home, this was a pleasantly good substitute.

#100happydays: Day 14
Okay, for those of you who know me, you know that I love ice cream. If I couldn't have ice cream anymore, I would probably be the saddest person alive. One type of ice cream that I absolutely love is birthday cake ice cream. Unfortunately, I can't ever seem to find it anywhere anymore. I went grocery shopping the other day and saw this ice cream and just jumped for joy. It was creamy goodness! Definitely have to go back and get some more!
#100happydays: Day 13
I went over to my boyfriend's house just to find this in my hands. I have been on a very long search for a coke with my name on it! His mother found it and they gave it to me. It was the simplest, but greatest gift. I don't think I have the heart to drink the delicious contents of the bottle, but it is just cool to look at. This is a perfect example of the little things that can make someone's day.
#100happydays: Day 12
I work right next door to the Old Time Photo studio. For fun my coworkers decided to get together and get a picture taken in costume after hours. Let's just say being put in a corset was not a highlight of my evening. But the experience was very fun. I had never had one done before and it was pretty neat. I will definitely show you guys when I get the copies I bought. Our group photo was taken on the bar and I even got to sit on it. Being with friends and doing something crazy is definitely what makes a summer fun.
#100happydays: Day 11
Since coming here, my diet has taken a turn for the worse. But with that, I'm eating some of the most amazing foods ever. I finally got the opportunity to eat the raved after mushroom and swiss burger from Mustang Sally's. This is a place that is across the street from where I work and I always smell all the good food coming through the door of the shop. This burger literally gave me a foodgasm as I like to put it. As you can see here it looks amazing and it tasted even more amazing. I will definitely be getting more.
#100happydays: Day 10
I got to experience the Legendary Buffalo Chip for the first time ever during the Rally. My boyfriend took me to go see Train! It was seriously one of the best nights ever. The show was definitely a different experience. There were motorcycles everywhere within the crowd and of course the usual rally chaos. We were ridiculously close to the stage and Train performed fan favorites as well as some new songs off their upcoming album. It was an amazing night that I won't forget!

#100happydays: Day 9
Okay, anything food pretty much makes me happy. Today my grandmother made me her delicious rice pudding. I had to steal a bowl before the rest of the house got to it and I would no longer be happy! I am not a huge fan of marshmallows, but it added in my rice pudding is amazing! My grandmother spoils me too much and I love her for it. When I go home I'll have to make this for myself. What a pain!
#100happydays: Day 8
I love thunderstorms. Something about them has always been entertaining to me. When I was younger I loved when we got thunderstorms and the power went out. It was like an adventure in the dark! The pouring rain is calming to watch until you see the flash of lightning light up the sky. Shortly after, you practically jump out of your seat from the crash of thunder that you were expecting but still get a little startled by. Thunderstorms simply make me happy.

These Boots Were Made For Walking
So if you ever in South Dakota during the summer there are definitely some things you should check out. Today's post is about the Days of 76 that occurs in Deadwood at the end of July every year. This is the time of year where you see nothing but cowboys everywhere like you're living in the Wild West. Days of 76 is a rodeo that occurs and includes a parade celebration as well. I have only been to the rodeo once and it was when I was very little, but I can say that my parents had me dressed up in my cowboy hat and boots for the occasion.
This year I worked during the Days of 76, but I did get the opportunity to see the parade that goes down Main Street in Deadwood. Expect to see a lot of horses and cowboys. And with horses comes the lovely smell of poop.
You get to see all the cool outfits that people wear and they are quite entertaining.
We even got to see cute miniature horses.
This post wouldn't be complete without an outfit of the day. Going with the spirit of the rodeo, I got the opportunity to wear my boots that I don't wear often.
I wore these with a floral dress, a belt, and a jean jacket. This was all I could muster up from the clothes I brought with me to South Dakota.

#100happydays: Day 7
Recently I have been on a mission to find me a biker named Bubba and run away with him as it is the start of bike week here in South Dakota. On Sunday I went to Dinosaur Park and got the bestest gift ever from my uncle. He is a dinosaur. He did not have a name and after some time, Bubba seemed to be the most suitable name. My quest to find Bubba is now over and he is part of the family as you can see here. He is meeting Wishful the unicorn for the first time. This gift makes me very happy and I thank my uncle for my dinosaur! Please note, I take my pets here seriously...
Just a Quick Update!
It's been awhile since I've given everyone an update on what's been going on since I left home. Today I'm catching you up a bit. So for those of you who still don't know, I am currently in South Dakota. I've been spending my summer here with my grandmother and so far I am loving the time I get to spend with her and the rest of the family. I am even working to earn some extra money. I work at this little store called Happy Days and it's a cute little novelty type store that sells anything from Elvis items to gag gifts to souvenirs.
This shop is right in the middle of Main Street in Deadwood, SD, or as I like to call, the casino town. I've gotten to meet some really cool, nice people while working here so far.
I have also started the #100happydays challenge and so far it has been going great. It really is easy to find that one little thing that can make you happy in a day and I'm glad I get to share these moments with you!
I will have more posts coming up on where I've gone and what I've gotten to do so far since I've been here, but I thought this update would be helpful in catching you up a little.

#100happydays: Day 6
Today I got to go back to a place that is a childhood favorite of mine. I got to revisit Dinosaur Park in Rapid City, South Dakota. Who doesn't love dinosaurs? Dinosaur Park is a small park overlooking Rapid City with sculptures of dinosaurs. It might not be the most exciting thing to some people, but to me, it was a great part of my day. I basically got to play tourist today and was so happy getting to hang with the people I love. I will definitely have a post more specifically about my adventures of the day, but this is my #100happydays moment.

#100happydays: Day 5
Food is the simplest thing that can make me happy. Even the unhealthiest of foods! Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Cheez-its! They are amazing. No need for explanations. Unfortunately when I work I don't really eat lunch or dinner depending on my shift, so from the picture you see what I typically eat. I got me a Dr. Pepper, Cheez-its, and Famous Amos cookies because I need the sweet and the salty. So if you ever want to know the way to my heart, this is pretty much the perfect meal!

#100happydays: Day 4
It's just one of those days. I have a lot on my mind and I just want to pull away for a second. I pull out my guitar and everything in life pauses for a minute as I just let the music play. The sound of the chords and the sound of my fingers slide up and down the fret board are mesmerizing. I don't think about the bad things of the day, but only the good. It's the moment that I can chill out. It's my happy moment. I can only focus on what I'm doing at that point in time, nothing else. I might not be any good at what I do, but at least it makes me happy, and that's what counts.

#100happydays: Day 3
I was looking through some old pictures I had for "Throwback Thursday" since I hadn't done one in a while. I came across this picture from my 15th birthday. For those of you who don't know, this is known as a quinceaƱera in the Hispanic community. One of the traditions involves a father daughter dance.
This photo is from that dance and it just made me smile today looking at how happy that made me. That smile also hid all the nervousness I held dancing in front of all my friends and family. My dad and I somehow managed to get through two dances without any disasters. But to see my dad that happy, is always a priceless moment.

#100happydays: Day 2
So being in South Dakota for the past couple of weeks, I have realized that I have been quite lazy. It all started with the road trip because we ate badly and were on the road for two days. Then being spoiled by grandma, I'm eating more food than I would at home, even if I'm not hungry. I have noticed I have felt more sluggish and not quite myself. Thank goodness for the treadmill in the basement as it was calling my name! Just getting back into my morning run and it feels great! Not quite at where I was when I left home, but I'll get there.

#100happydays: Day 1
I am officially starting #100happydays! I have been itching to start it. These posts will be brief as I will be doing these everyday in addition to my other posts. So here it goes...
This is the dinner I made tonight for the family. This is the first time making this dish, and it turned out surprisingly well. My grandmother told me to find a recipe that involved chicken, alfredo, and broccoli. Finally, I just threw all the ingredients together to make a chicken and broccoli alfredo casserole! Knowing that I made a new creation for the family just brought a smile to my face; therefore, it was a moment today that made me happy.
If you would like the recipe I based this dish off of you should go here. I did not go exactly by the book so feel free to make tweaks as well and let me know how it turns out!

Everyday Simple Summer Makeup
During the summer nobody likes caking on makeup or wearing makeup at all sometimes. I like as little as possible anyway just because I don't like the feeling of makeup on my face. Also I don't like when people can really tell I'm wearing makeup, that's annoying. I wear just enough to cover up any blemishes or cover the dark circles under my eyes. So here you see I just got out of the shower and my face is washed and moisturized. It is all ready so I can show you my finished everyday summer look.
I have never had a problem not wearing makeup out. So here you are seeing the all natural look without makeup. I start off with Ulta's Professional Matte Prime to give my makeup a base. It helps to keep my face matte. It is not tinted in any way, so you can't really tell where you have put it on. I personally do not like liquid foundations because they seem so thick and unnatural. I have found that Bb cream is the perfect solution for me. For those who don't know what Bb cream is, it has more coverage than a tinted mousturizer, but not as much coverage as a foundation. I like that because I like the natural look. I haven't had bad breakouts since I was younger so coverage has not been a big problem for me. For my everyday makeup, I use Maybelline New York's Dream Fresh BB cream in light/medium. I do find this shade to be a bit lighter on my skin, but the medium is too dark for my skin tone.
Next, I use Maybelline New York's Dream Lumi touch highlighting concealer in nude. I use this under my eyes as it highlights this area, which happens to be my biggest concern. Then I use it to cover any other imperfections on my face. I use a powder brush to cover my entire face with L'oreal Paris's True Match super-blendable powder in buff beige (n4). This helps to make everything look more natural.
Blush is always something you want to look natural and in the summer coral seems to work for most people. My favorite blush for summer is Milani's baked powder blush in Luminoso (05). It gives the perfect balancing blush and shine. It highlights your upper cheek bones and gives the apples of your cheek just enough color.
When finished with all my face makeup I am left with my eyes and lips. For eyes, this summer I have found a new favorite mascara that I got for free at Ulta for my birthday as part of their rewards program. It is called ck one by Calvin Klein. It is the most natural looking and feeling mascara I have ever used. The brush is also amazing! You can twist the top to squeeze the brush and make the bristles closer together. I use this feature when getting my bottom lashes. It's like two brushes in one!! I don't use any other eye makeup as it's summer and it's unnecessary. For lips, I use Maybelline New York's Baby Lips Crystal in Gleaming Coral (135). As you have read in a previous blog post, I am obsessed with baby lips. This is no exception. I recently picked this one up and it is slightly tinted with sparkle. Just enough for that summer look.
And there you have it. The finished everyday summer makeup look with all the products shown and mentioned.
